Watch Steph’s shocked response to Klay’s and-1 against the Hornets.
Steph Curry is rarely surprised by what he sees on the basketball court. But he was stunned late in the first half of the Warriors’ game against the Charlotte Hornets on Tuesday night.
Klay Thompson cut to the basket with less than a minute until halftime at Chase Center, caught a pass from Anthony Lamb, and flipped the shot in while drawing a foul.
Curry, who was out due to a left shoulder subluxation, couldn’t hide his delight at his Splash Brother’s circus shot.
With a game-high 20 points in the first half on 7 of 12 field goal attempts and 4 of 7 three-point attempts, Thompson was unstoppable. With 29 points, he finished the Warriors’ 110–105 victory as the game’s top scorer (10 of 22 from the field; 5 of 12 from beyond the arc)
Curry is working to recover from an injury as Thompson gets back into shape. The Warriors stated that the NBA Finals MVP in the current season would be evaluated again on Jan. 7, and he expressed hope to return as soon as possible after that.
Curry will watch the Warriors’ efforts to save their season from the front row while it lasts.
